Chicken Curry - 30 May 07

Im a penangian but I married to a Johorean, So everytime if I need to cook any special dished, I will either call my mum all the way from Johor or live chat with her thru MSN to get all her secret recipe 家传秘方.

Yesterday evening I MSN with my sister and ask her to call back to my mum to get the chicken curry recipe (my sister still working tat time and I wanna save some telephone money ...).At first I plan to cook it yesterday nite as dinner, but ended up that I fall to sleep after the MSN.....z z z z z z z z z z z z z
1.Marinate chicken with some salt, and leave aside.
2.Pounded lemongrass, ginger, shallots and garlic - (A).
3.Saute (A), kayu manis and bunga cengkih with a bit of oil until fragrant.
4.Add chilli boh, and saute again until fragrant.
5.Add a bit of curry powder and cook until fragrant.
6.Add in chicken and stir until well combine.
7.Add potato and cook until half cook.
8.Add coffee mate + water (I prefer to use coffee mate instead of santan for healthy purposes).
9.Add chicken and potato and cook until it's soft and add in a bit of salt.
10.Can eat with rice or bread.
Oh yes, need to add in some curry leaves too.

Wah, I only heard can subsitute santan with either milk or yoghurt. Didn't know can use coffee-mate too.

you are definitely a good cook.. with the first try, the curry looks delicious.. Yummy... i like to eat with bread.. the "benggali bread" :>

My mum can cook curry without "santan" (coconut milk) too.

It’s look like mouth watering. And this is the 1st time I heard can to use coffee mate.
